SSISBC History

This has been a dream for some of our directors for almost a decade, and for myself, Pamela(RavenSong), since attending a National gathering in Ottawa in 2018.

We tried over the years to make this happen and it just didn't jell until this year. In January, we took the liberty of registering this society in BC, and gathering up a group willing to work for free, who had a passion to see life improve for our fellow scoopees.

On January 4th ,2022 we became Sixty Scoop Indigenous Society of BC, SSISBC.

Our mission is to serve you, our fellow survivors, to the best of our ability. To pursue, an apology from BC government and have our stories documented, heard and acknowledged before any apology takes place.

We have requested a meeting with the Premier and he has appointed MCFD to meet and discuss this with us.

We look forward to having our voices heard and requesting that yours be heard too, with a series of engagement sessions for BC,silimilar to what SSISA, did for Alberta, where our lived experience can be counted.

Please join us on Sunday evening to discuss this and many other things at our weekly online 60 zoom meeting.
